Hi everyone,

    There seems to be quite a bit of bashing of the original poster
    which I personally feel is undeserved. It seems to me from reading
    the excerpt of the post in context of the whole post, that the
    person was not trying to alienate or insult anyone; rather the point
    was to praise people who regularly contribute advice, etc, in
    addition to offering their services to other Orchid members. The
    words could easily be interpreted as inflammatory, but I don't think
    they were meant that way. 

    I don't think that she meant that people should not advertise their
    business here, or include links in their signature. Some of the
    people she was praising in her post do include links in their
    signatures. 

    It's very difficult sometimes to express opinions in print without
    offending people unintentionally - I know once or twice on the rare
    occasions that I've posted here, there have been posts back to me
    that made absolutely no sense to me until I re-read my post and saw
    how it could have been interpreted another way.
