All,

    Gemstone cabs pose their own special problem.  A cutter must decide
    whether the rough material would make a more valueable fimished
    facetted stone or a cab.  Thus most gemstone material is facetted and
    not cabbed. When you do find a gemstone cab it will normally have a
    price close to the price of a facetted stone.  Most gemstone cabs are
    made out of lower grade material with flaws and other distractions
    like poor color. 

    I have very few gemstone cabs.  I also have some cabs made out of
    low grade gemstone material.  The question each of you will have to
    ask yourself is how much are you willing to pay for a top grade
    gemstone cab. 

    I have a fresh stock of custom cabs for the show and many new cuts
    in facetted stones.  See you there.
