Dear Orchidins,

    As I have done for the last three years, I am heading up the team
    putting on the  Silent Auction for the 2005 Tucson Orchid Dinner. 
    Again, I am asking on behalf of Hanuman, that you be generous and
    make a contribution to the silent auction. 

    Last year we had items that went for $10 and items that went for
    $250. The point is that in the aggregate we raised nearly $5000.20
    This is a way, you as individuals can help the cause. The event is
    fun for all those members who participate and all the money goes
    directly to Hanuman. Kind of a win win situationfor the whole Orchid
    family.. So far this year, we have not had a lot of members coming
    forward with contributions. Hopefully, you, that have been generous
    in the past are still planning on helping us again. Those of you who
    are new to the forum or have never donated in the past, please
    consider making your first donation. If you are planning on making a
    contribution to the silent auction, please, pretty please, contact
    me directly at patglover AT comcast.net or call me at 520 290 8503.  I
    need to organize space, forms, helpers, etc. 

    It is no longer possible to drop your items off at Sam Patania's when
    you get to Tucson as Sam has moved his place of business. 

    Now you can drop things off at the front desk of Rio's Catalog in
    Motion at the Hilton East Hotel on Broadway - Ask for Emily Swartz
    and she will secure your donations until I can pick them up. You can
    also mail your donations directly to me:

    I know there will always be some of you who will want to drop things
    off at the dinner itself. This makes organization a little tougher,
    but we will never turn anything down. However, contacting me in
    advance gives me a heads up on what to expect.
