For specific questions about the workshop content, please contact Linda Kaye-Moses <evansol AT berkshire.net> Date: February 25-27, 2005 Title: THE NEXT DIMENSION; MAKING HOLLOW FORMS WITH PRECIOUS METAL CLAY We will explore methods of creating dimensional forms (hollow forms) using Precious Metal Clay. embellished with designs and textures to make your forms unique. Using Precious Metal Clay and Precious Metal Clay+, clay-like forms of Pure Silver, we will make a hollow beads, slip 'cast' objets and a number of hollow vessel forms, while investigating moldmaking, slip 'casting', appliqu=E9 and other techniques for manipulating Precius Metal Clay. With the help of demonstrations, slides and examples, you will design, create, fire and finish your objets. A tools and equipment list will be furnished prior to class and all materials for your piece, including polishing/finishing supplies will be available. Experience in jewelrymaking is not required for this class, where the only limit is your imagination and the only prerequisite is enthusiasm. Beginnners will receive the personal attention that will help them work with the PMC, though some experience with Precious Metal Clay will be helpful. Date: March 4-6, 2005 Title: "TEXTURAL DIALOGUE; DEVELOPING TEXTURES FOR PRECIOUS METAL CLAY" Explore methods of imprinting textures on metals and other materials (including stamping, roll-printing, embossing, micro-folding, carving, moldmaking, etc.) and, using those methods, learn to work with Fine Silver Precious Metal Clay.
