Pam,

    Use a loupe and look at the pins to see if they are a small screw or
    if they are a pin with a notch in one end. 

    Carefully try a screw driver to see if the pin is a screw and backs
    out of the hole. 

    If  it is not a screw but instead a pin you will need to tap the pin
    out with a hammer and a small metal rod.  Tap on the side opposite
    where the small notch is. 

    Once you have the pins and links removed, simply slide the pin back
    in to the hole and lightly tap in place. Use the small rod to finish
    tapping the pin until it sinks below the surface.
