Hi All,

    It appears "Innovation" is the buzzword of the year. I, too, have
    received an assignment from AJM to write about innovation -- in
    particular, innovation in small shops. 

    I find myself wondering, though, what does innovation mean to you
    guys? How important is being innovative to your work and business? Do
    you think of yourselves as being innovative? Is being creative the
    same thing as being innovative? 

    I'd be really interested to hear what you guys think when someone
    touts "innovation" as a solution to business challenges, and how you
    think it applies to you. 

    As for the article, my assignment is to find "clever ways jewelers
    have devised to make their work faster and more profitable, and to
    keep creativity constant in their shops." I'd welcome an e-mail from
    anyone who has an approach that creatively solves a problem or
    reduces the time and money needed to accomplish a particular task, or
    who has any thoughts about what they'd like to read about in an
