Hi, I'm about to graduate from high school and will be taking a year
off. I'm looking at spending four months taking an intensive
jeweler's program. I already have significant background, I've taken
amateur classes for four years, and have my own small workshop. My
main goal is to really improve my technical skills and learn from
people with more experience, as thus far it has been mostly high
school art teachers, as well as get some experience living fully on
my own in a new place (vs. CT boarding school). Having looked around
quite a bit, the American Jeweler's Institute seemed to be the best
value for the price range and time length I'm looking at. Obviously,
my resources are limited. Any thoughts on the school itself or the
plan in general? Any input is grealty appreciated. Thanks!
