I am having a problem with my tar etching resist I got from Rio.
I've ordered two bottles, hoping the first bottle was just "off",
but they are both the same. I had for many years painted the tar on
the metal, let it dry, then scratched my design into the resist.
With these bottles, the resist is brittle and flakes off, making it
impossible for me to use. The consistency seems thinner, perhaps to
use with their screenprint etching kit, but consequently not
    suitable for my "primitive" chicken-scratch.

Before I throw out my bottle of brittle resist, my question is: What
do I mix into the tar to make it more pliable and soft again? The
current tech people at Rio were unable to answer my question - the
last good bottle I got from them was 15 years ago, and lasted long
enough for the old tech guys to retire.

IF you like, you can answer me directly at Studio at BlackWaterSiren
    dot com.

Thanks!
Christen
