    I've done this too, only I've used a small nail with -- not a flat
    head but a head that is thicker than the nail, but not quite a ball.
    Works really well on small porosity.  Try it! 

    This is one of those bench tricks that you'll only learn on Orchid
    or in an apprenticeship.
