========[ Invite a Friend - http://www.ganoksin.com/invite.htm ]======== I knew a gentleman who used to do this....he is a native american... I remember him telling me it was done with a spoon and it was called a "10,000 tap" ring. the one that I was shown was BEAUTIFUL. the really skilled craftsmen, like the gentleman who showed it to me...could retain the design of the coin, though stretched and faint, on the inside of the ring. AMAZING! good luck, it really looked like it showed a great deal of patience. 10,000 taps is an awful lot! ( a hammer, though probably prefered may ruin the image on the inside of the ring) -julia ____________________________________________________________________ T h e O r c h i d L i s t Open Electronic Forum for Jewelry Manufacturing Methods and Procedures ____________________________________________________________________ Orchid FAQ: ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/orchid/faq.htm Orchid Archives: ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/orchid/archive Orchid Galleries: ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/orchid/gallery.htm Invite a Friend: ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/invite.htm ____________________________________________________________________ Tips From The Jeweler's Bench - Article Archive ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/borisat/tip_sear.htm The Jeweler's Selected Bibliography List ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/jewelry-books Buy Orchid Jewelry: ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/shop ____________________________________________________________________ -Unsubscribe: -Email: orchid-request AT ganoksin.com Body=unsubscribe subject=blank ____________________________________________________________________ |
