Nearly all the green amber as you describe is dyed. It comes from the
Baltic region, mostly Poland as I understand it. Real green amber,
when it's available at all comes from the Dominican Republic and some
small amount from around Chiapas, Mexico. But that sounds like it
would be too expensive for what you have in mind. Besides, the size
of the piece of green amber that is untreated is unlikely to be small
and uniform. The larger the piece the more it's worth.

For dyed material, I'd check do a search for baltic green amber. Or
    some variation on that theme.
