    Heat and mineral spirits might do the job but that sounds messier
    than the mess. I would take the opposite tack and put ice cubes
    loosely in a zip-lock bag and hold them against the wax until it
    could be cleanly pulled free. Ice is what is suggested to remove wax
    or chewing gum - it gets hard and can be scraped or cracked off
    without making more mess or damage to surface.  Why not rolling
    mills?
