    Another way to retain email addresses, not to mention addresses and
    phone numbers, is to use a "personal data assistant", aka Palm
    Pilot. I used to use a Day Timer and it was woefully inadequate (you
    actually have to pick it up and look at it). Now I use my PDA,
    synchronize it with my Outlook program, and I have my schedule,
    address book, notepad, etc. at my fingertips. The nice thing is that
    should my computer crash, all I have to do is reinstall Outlook and
    my PDA programs, synchronize, and everything I need is restored.
