    Michael, As you say there definately are divisons in the jewelry
    game.  I think there are more categories.  The academics are of real
    value because having endless amounts of time (paid to teach) to pile
    technique upon technique they often are the source of technological
    innovation.  Between the academics and the trade jewelers are people
    like you and me.  You are a studio jeweler selling (presumably)
    through galleries, we are an atalier designing and selling retail.
