    Hi Roger, When I was running an educational electronics lab I
    discovered that student proofing was hard. I did have one technique
    that worked fairly well though. I posted warning signs liberally
    around the lab threatening re-arranged kneecaps for violators and
    showing a pictures of my own cartooned self holding a baseball bat
    and looking surly. Then in my office I kept a Little League sized
    aluminum bat on the wall. Every now and again, when I had to remind
    students about destroying lab equipment, I jovially carried around
    my little bat. I smiled a lot and joked some and, amazingly, lab
    tools started lasting quite a bit longer. Maybe some adaptation of
    this process might work? Threaten tong assisted nose jobs perhaps?
    Or maybe tin-snip assisted earlobe trimming? Torch style tongue
    piercing?  Be creative.
