    I have done a lot of searching for the documentary myself, not until
    now have I tracked it down. I have looked on BBC and Channel Fours
    sites but they didn't seem to have any archives, and guess what ?? it
    took google to find the detail I had been searching for in vain. I
    thought it was about seven years ago that I had seen it, turns out
    it was in fact 10years ago, but its memory has remained. The
    documentary was called The Diamond Empire, and it went out on the
    BBC Here is one link on the writer behind the documentary Janine
    Roberts, and all the detail about its birth.

    If you want to read more on the documentary just add "DeBeers
    documentary" or Diamond Empire to your search engine, and you will
    find tones of  stuff. I have tried to find it on Amazon and Ebay but
    unfortunately had no luck? 

    Rex here is a link to the finding of the diamond in Guinea, I
    couldn't find my local news papers version but this should get  you
