    Oh, yes indeedy.There are single-taskers and multi-taskers. The
    former can't scratch their heads and chew gum simultaneously. The
    latter can carry on a phone conversation while preparing
    dinner,letting the dog out, catching a news bulletin on the radio,
    etc. However, when it comes to concentrating on something creative,
    everybody seems to have a different way of arriving at that perfect
    state of one-ness with the Muse, as I see from the Orchid posts. 
    For some obscure reason, I work best when there is activity  around
    me that I can shut out.  Absolute silence does nothing for my
    concentration except dull it. Put on a TV or a radio, open a window
    to let in outside sounds.....and even though I seem to shut them
    out, they intensify my concentration and I don't feel isolated from
    the environment while I am working. It's hard to explain, but for me
    it works.
