[Jewelry making - Article 01019] - [Orchid] Cuttlefish cast brass

Hi, neighbors,                

    I have a student who wants to cuttlefish-cast using brass. I've done
    this before without a problem, using brass casting grain. I don't
    currently have any of that, so I'm hoping someone more experienced
    with casting (I am competent but not expert) will tell me whether it
    will work as well with cut-up nugold sheet? Is there a difference
    between sheet brass and grain? If casting needs more zinc, I suppose
    I could use pennies...?
