Ganoksin Content Expansion Announced

This has been a terrific year for the 8-year-old Ganoksin Project
(http://www.ganoksin.com), now the largest educational website for
jewelers and metalsmiths. Many hundreds of pages of are
added monthly from prestigious authors such as Charles Lewton-Brain,
Alan Revere, Bradney Simon, Suzanne Wade, Blaine Lewis and Chris
Corti, to name just a few. Ganoksin and its Orchid discussion group
have given rise to a community of members who organize well-attended
dinners, gatherings and fund raising events in conjunction with trade
shows, conferences and craft shows. In 2003, five major Orchid
celebrations took place in Tucson, New York, Santa Monica, Las Vegas
and San Francisco.

Due to the devoted efforts of Dr. E. Aspler (Hanuman) and Charles
Lewton-Brain, Ganoksin has finalized agreements with a number of
prestigious jewelry publications such as the highly regarded
American Jewelers Magazine (AJM), Colored Stone magazine, Metalsmith
magazine (published by the Society of North American Goldsmiths) and
Glass on Metal magazine, to publish valuable articles and images,
free to the Ganoksin community.

James F. Marquart, President and CEO of MJSA (which publishes AJM),
commented that, “given AJM’s reputation in the industry for
incisive, authoritative technical and business articles and
Ganoksin’s reputation as one of the industry’s pre-eminent online
resources, this partnership seems only natural; MJSA and AJM are
dedicated to ensuring jewelers have the knowledge they need to
remain competitive, and our collaboration with Ganoksin will greatly
help us to achieve this aim.”

Further collaborations are underway between AJM and Ganoksin to
produce a series of useful and informative reference books with
content harvested from the Orchid Archive and from the Ganoksin.com
Library. In addition, Ganoksin negotiated this year with two
distinguished professional organizations, The World Gold Council and
the Platinum Guild, and both have enthusiastically agreed to add
their wealth of content to Ganoksin’s growing library.

Nearly 200,000 visitors log onto Ganoksin.com every month to gain
access to the free provided there. The Orchid
discussion group has grown to over 5000 members who receive 50-80,
carefully formatted emails a day, which since 1997 have been
meticulously archived and indexed. There is no finer l
resource for the jewelry industry than the Ganoksin site and the
Orchid forum.
