    How thick do you want it? White pearl or black-lipped? Of course,
    you do realise that MOP comes in a curved shape, and that a flat
    piece of thick pearl shell might be difficult to grind  up out of a
    curved shell. However, if you want thin pieces, there's a company
    here who make paua and pearl veneer, or rather laminate:

    Maybe they will sell the shell too, or make what you want.
