The Engraver's Guild I referred to is actually the Firearms
    Engraver's Guild of America - which has a site - fega.com. Although
anyone can join and participate at the general level, there is a
requirement that you must have a Federal Firearms License in order
to be considered for "professional" membership.

They are a great group and worth joining if only for the information
and help that they offer all hand engravers. There is a forum where
you can ask any question that you may have on hand engraving (not
stone setting) - and a tips notebook that comes with membership that
is well worth the price of general membership - which is $50
    yearly...

There is a show held every year at the end of January in Reno, held
in conjunction with a knifemakers show and Safari Club
International. You can see some of the best of the best hand
engraving in the world at this show. I have been a member for around
8 years now, and have taken workshops and seminars in California,
Nevada, and Colorado from some pretty incredible members who teach.
Eric Gold, Sam Welch, Christian DeCamillus, and John Barraclough
come to mind, and I'm sure there were more. Go check out the site!
