    Ultrasonics will remove dirt ,polishing rouge and such. Ionic
    cleaners are mainly for removing tarnished and or oxidized surfaces.
    A ionic cleaner will not remove dirt or particles . I use both
    machines in tandem and it works great especially with silver chains
    or any ruff texture that cannot be polished easily. ( like nuggets ,
    yuk ) 

    If you need a jewelry cleaner , use a ultrasonic and then complement
    it later with the Ionic cleaner.
