Help! I spent last week helping my brother rescue what was left of
his belongings after he was burnt out by the Cedar fire that swept
through Crest, California. Lots of Craftsman and Snap on tools to
sort through and try to exchange. By the third day the aluminum
blobs that dripped off my brother's vintage Harley were looking like
sculpture and I started saving stuff to mess around with. I saved a
bunch of lifters that look like they would make great stamps. Can I
harden the metal, or do you think they were too tortured by the
fire? Bet you can tell that I haven't made a lot of tools before,
but I have plenty of metal to practice with now. All advice
    gratefully accepted! Linda Hennes
