    This piece is an exploration of jewelry's ability to serve in both a
    decorative and utilitarian role, while taking advantage of its
    inherent mobility by giving it a task that the wearer might require
    of it at any point in time. If one is to wear a piece of jewelry,
    why not let it earn its keep?" The rings were shown in the SNAG 2003
    Juried Student Exhibition in conjunction with the SNAG conference
    here in SF last May.
