Hi Will;

Yes, I've had quite a bit of experience with Liquacast. For the
money, it's quite a bargain. It's much less expensive than the other
RTV's and I think it's easier to work with. It mixes and cuts easily
and it's fairly tough, but a little softer than Silastic. There is a
transparent product from Castaldo that I haven't tried yet, but I
have some and I'm eager to test it and I'll give you my opinion when
I do. My opinion is posted on their web site, by the way, but I'm
not paid to represent their product, it's just an honest, objective
    opinion.

You can take molds from anything, wax, metal, organics (if they are
dry), etc. Make sure your product is uncontaminated with solvents or
water or other chemical residues which might affect the setting of
the compound. This product is sensitive to contamination during
setting, especially with moisture. Measure very carefully in plastic
cups, not paper (holds moisture). It won't set correctly if the
weights aren't precise. Store your molds in plastic bags, as they
will break down if exposed over time to ambient moisture. Store them
with a wax in them to help them keep their shape. This product does
not have the longevity of the standard RTV's, but I have had molds
for a couple years and I see no change in them. Cleanup is easy with
a waterless hand cleaner or turps, but keep these off the molds. The
plastic sided mold frames designed for the product are easier to
remove from the cured rubber than the glass panels, but either will
work. You can speed up the setting slightly by warming it
(explanations come with the instructions provided), if your model
will take higher temperatures. I'm very happy with it and use it
    extensively.
