========[ Invite a Friend - http://www.ganoksin.com/invite.htm ]======== Hello Again Everyone- I am a beginner enamelist and novice silver worker. I have been fabricating settings with bezels out of sterling using bezel wire to set my enamels. I am now thinking of having these cast to do some production work. To do this, I have been told to make the originals out of 16 gauge bronze. Now- I am confused as to this; Do I fabricate the original setting with the bezel wire, or is the bezel wire just too thin to cast? Do I make the entire piece without the bezel wire, have that cast, then put the bezel wire into the setting by hand? I would appreciate any help on this... Thanks- Cherie Morris Flying Bird Studio ____________________________________________________________________ T h e O r c h i d L i s t Open Electronic Forum for Jewelry Manufacturing Methods and Procedures ____________________________________________________________________ Orchid FAQ: ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/orchid/faq.htm Orchid Archives: ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/orchid/archive Orchid Galleries: ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/orchid/gallery.htm Invite a Friend: ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/invite.htm ____________________________________________________________________ Tips From The Jeweler's Bench - Article Archive ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/borisat/tip_sear.htm The Jeweler's Selected Bibliography List ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/jewelry-books Buy Orchid Jewelry: ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/shop ____________________________________________________________________ -Unsubscribe: -Email: orchid-request AT ganoksin.com Body=unsubscribe subject=blank ____________________________________________________________________ |
