========[ Invite a Friend - http://www.ganoksin.com/invite.htm ]======== Dear Tess, There is a way to make a springy gold alloy which retains its spring after casting. On page 214 of the 1998 Santa Fe Symposium book you will find the alloys for 9,10,14 and 18ct golds. They are based on Pd/Cu to attain the required springyness. The compromise is colour as the Pd tends to pale it off. However we have have been using these alloys for many years with great success and no one has ever complained about the colour. Good luck, Tony Eccles ____________________________________________________________________ T h e O r c h i d L i s t Open Electronic Forum for Jewelry Manufacturing Methods and Procedures ____________________________________________________________________ Orchid FAQ: ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/orchid/faq.htm Orchid Archives: ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/orchid/archive Orchid Galleries: ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/orchid/gallery.htm Invite a Friend: ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/invite.htm ____________________________________________________________________ Tips From The Jeweler's Bench - Article Archive ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/borisat/tip_sear.htm The Jeweler's Selected Bibliography List ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/jewelry-books Buy Orchid Jewelry: ~ http://www.ganoksin.com/shop ____________________________________________________________________ -Unsubscribe: -Email: orchid-request AT ganoksin.com Body=unsubscribe subject=blank ____________________________________________________________________ |
