========[ Invite a Friend - http://www.ganoksin.com/invite.htm ]======== Howdy laura, Others here can give more detail, but 'cracking' ammonia into nitrogen and hydrogen is done by some folks who refine (and cast?) precious metals. It helps to remove oxides from the molten alloy/metal. Electronics manufacturers sometimes use the nitrogen component to protect solder paste from oxidizing during reflow.
