    Jim - I see what the problem is. You need either the #2 or #3 plate.
    I'll bet that she is using the higher numbers and still trying to
    focus at arms length! The #5 focuses at about 12" or so, and #7 is
    about 9" and the #10 is somewhere around 6" (I'll post better numbers
    on Monday when I can get to my files). 

    It's not the astigmatism that giving her fits, it's that she hasn't
    found the working distance focus point yet. Back off on the power
    with a lower number plate and all will be well.
