SNAG Executive Director Dana Singer staffed the SNAG and Metalsmith
booth a t this year's Catalog in Motion in Tucson, February 7-10.
Singer distributed nearly 1,000 complimentary copies of Metalsmith
magazine, along with SNAG's newsletter and brochure, information
about our upcoming conference, 'Making It in Metal,' in San
Francisco May 21-25, and a flyer announcing two pre-conference
sessions: the Professional Practices Workshop featuring Donald
Friedlich, Alan Revere, Boris Bally and Andy Cooperman, and the
    Educators' Dialog.

Singer also attended two Orchid dinners while in Tucson, the first
hosted by Kenneth Singh to welcome Hanuman Aspler, and the more
raucous Orchid dinner at El Parador. SNAG also donated two
Metalsmith subscriptions to the Orchid silent auction.

    SNAG Reinforces Alliance with Orchid

After Dana Singer spent time with Hanuman Aspler in Tucson, SNAG
committed to reinforcing its partnership with Orchid. Part of SNAG's
educational mission is outreach to the range of jewelers and
metalsmiths in the field, including both makers and educators, and to
encourage the exchange of information in the field. Orchid's unique
listing service automatically provides daily communication between
thousands of subscribers to create community, connection and
information. SNAG publishes Metalsmith magazine, holds annual
conferences around North America, publishes its newsletter SNAG News,
and hosts a comprehensive website, providing in formation to
    thousands of jewelers and metalsmiths.

SNAG and Orchid will continue to explore mutually beneficial ways the
two groups can work together to reach a diverse population for the
education and promotion of metalsmithing at large.
