========[ Invite a Friend - http://www.ganoksin.com/invite.htm ]======== In overwhelming response to the recent postings I did regarding the elk antler and Elk Ivory (since i was well taken to task that it is indeed ivory and not teeth) I have composed this message. A final on the cost of these items is discribed below I have been working with paypal to configure the international sales and payments. I dont think I have all this ebusiness thing figured out yet, so bear with me on the payment front, I'm just a simple craftsman with a love for the materials I work with, and I found a source I want to share with you. Elk's teeth - these have been officially designated as ivory based on the information I have been given. I can tell you, they look like ivory, they are kick ass materials to work and polish up beautifully. Costs: 3.00 USD each tooth. I have a limited supply of these (16 total) 2 of which are smaller and more worn down and I'll take 5:00 for the pair. Below is a picture of the elk ivory (teeth) http://www.ganoksin.com/ftp/teethmeasured.jpg Antler I currently have about 6-8 feet total length of elk antler with an average ( at the base ) of .85 inch ( with caliper) and a couple of solid pieces running at almost 1" external diameter. There is other smaller diameters here, I just didnt count anything under the .85 inch. ( I use these myself) If you want less than that, please email me, we can talk about shipping costs and supply and what you need. 4.00 USD per lineal inch. I cannot gaurantee the thicknesses at each end, but will do my utmost to ensure a consistent thickness. (Father Nature over-rides my choices.) Something no one has asked me about the elk buttons from the dehorning process in the fall. I want to point out to you that this is ( as far as i am concerned ) the most premium item, since it is much larger diameter than the antler, and is basically the same materials. The buttons range in size, with the average being almost 3.5 inches across in diameter and almost 1" thick. I would like about 9.00 USD each for these depending on size. Here is a picture of one: http://www.ganoksin.com/ftp/5horns.jpg http://www.ganoksin.com/ftp/buttonmeasured.jpg By my reconing, this material is excellent for the squares on a chess board, (since I carve chess pieces from antler) I am in the process of creating a chess board with lapidary materials ( lapis, jade, agate) and the antler that i will be staining. Anyways, thanks for your interest in these, I want to become the foremost supplier of Antler and elk materials for any of the craftspeople out there. ( I need a better life than what I have in the oilfields, I'll bust my ass to build this business!!!) I also have a contact of moose antler. If you are interested, email me and I will make my phone calls and contacts and see what i can chase down. I know many other hunters that have huge garages full of this materials, and if I can find a demand for it in the crafts, I'll be more than happy to make sure you get this. If you have a need of something like this, email me and I'll get it for you. I have been working with animal antler, specialty woods and teeth for a number of years, I personally also work in silver and I cut gemstones ( emeralds)... hell ..I'll do anything to keep from being bored and having to watch the news on television! I look forward to hearing from you. If there is anything I can do to serve you, please let me know. Cheers...
