    Thank you to all that replied to my message about making Titanium
    rings. I have come to the conclusion that I will need a metal lathe
    in order to continue my interest in titanium. 

    After learning about Ti rings, I was curious about how rings of
    other metal are made.  Generally speaking, how are rings/bands of
    other metals (gold, silver, copper, etc) made?  I was wondering if
    most are made from half-round wire and then soldered or if they might
    also be turned on a lathe.
