    Le Panda

She roams amid Le Stalky Trees, She eats Le Bamboo ... s'il vous
    please.

Oh ... she is an ancient bear ... three million years old ... a
semi-divine creature ...credited with the ability to prevent disease
and to exorcize evil spirits. But of course ... messieurs/dames ...
you have to keep her around for that. You have to have the necessary
plant life available in order to feed her.

You have to be able to walk her ... and you would need a
pooper-scooper of enormous size in order to accommodate city
regulations on clean sidewalks ... if you wanted to walk her in the
city that is. Imagine if you will ... the size of the apartment you
would need. And on a rainy day ... when you didn't want to go out ...
what would you do? Kitty litter? Ye gads man ... what size box would
you need? And where would you put those precious gifts she'd leave
behind on a daily basis? Down the incinerator? Nay nay lads and
lassies. The levels of asphyxiating noxious odors would dwarf
anything ever spewed out naturally by nature. And yet ... and yet
... you do want your very own Panda.

What to do what to do? May I suggest jewelry, mes amis? Might I
suggest a bangle perhaps? We're talking the giant black and white
Panda. We're talking here about contributions to the preservation of
an endangered species. You can't have one as a pet. There are hardly
any left. Olden emperors once collected their hides. Their
    populations have been decimated.

This is true of the mountain slopes of China and Eastern Tibet which
they inhabit. This is not true of the wrists of fair damsels upon
which they rest their beauteous bods. There is a designer out their
... name of David Webb ... who has made a Panda Bangle of 18 karat
gold and platinum and diamonds and ruby eyes. As you so quick of wit
may have already surmised ... I have a graphic of this elegant
creature now eternally preserved in precious metals and precious
    stones.

It's a bit of an interesting fact that for the most part ... it is
chiefly Americans that adore this creature who some seem to think is
akin to the bear ... while others think the racoon ... and still
others think it to be a species of its own. The Chinese--on the
other hand-- have no clue as to why we like these creatures so much.
It is a wonder to them. It should therefore be no surprise that an
American designer created this great looking piece of jewelry.

For those of you who are new to this thing called Tidbits...may I
direct you to my home page at www.tyler-adam.com where you will
scroll down the left side menu till you get to the area that says
Tidbits Graphics ... and then click on the link that says: Panda ...
where you will see a graphic of Xiongmao ... which in Chinese means
    "Giant Cat Bear."

And there ya have it. That's it for this week folks. Catch you all
    next week. Benjamin Mark
