Dave,

Regarding how well an ultra sonic cleaner works once it becomes
    loaded with polishing compound.

I have a nine person shop with a 5 gallon ultra sonic (it's a big
one) that runs all day, everyday. I have been using Gessweins brand
of ultra sonic solution for a long time for one reason, the
polishing compound settles to the bottom overnight. In the morning
we come in and pour off the 'clean solution' and then pour the muck
at the bottom into a container to be refined. We use the same
solution for about a week, or until it doesn't feel slippery
anymore, then we make new. Mark P. WI
