Enameling show opening near Toronto, free lectures etc

“The Colour of FiRe: Contemporary Enamel arts from Japan and
Canada”, a special Exhibition at Laidlaw Hall, Living Arts Center,
Mississauga, ontario,

call for 905-306 6097, there is a pdf form for the
workshops etc at:

http://www.livingarts.on.ca/exhibitions.htm.

This special show is the result of Herculean efforts on the part of
Canada’s enamelling association members, 77 enamel artists,
jewellery, functional, sculptural forms, and a free two day symposium
with slide lectures and in-studio demonstrations by noted Canadian
and Japanese artists. A special opening ceremony (Japanese consulate
sponsoring among others, I’m betting the food is great!). This is a
giant project and some $70,000.00 was raised by the Canadian
Enamelling Association for the catalog and other costs. A remarkable
achievement by some very dedicated people, many in Ontario. This is
just part of the project, there is a reciprocal show in Japan at a
later date. The show postcard had a beautiful plique-=E1-jour enamel
bowl form. This show is a rare opportunity to see world class
enamelling in Canada

Wish I could see the show!
