    Kate, Thanks for the suggestion to use green Ferris Wax for repairs. 
    I have always used blue Ferris for my turning and engraving.  I also
    use blue for repair and as you say the consistencency of the repair
    wax is not the same as new wax.  I wax weld two blocks of ferris
    blue to make a large piece of pottery.  The joint has always been a
    problem.  The green was may solve the problem.  the suggestion to
    melt the base wax when you make a repair is very important.  The
    process is just like welding metal. Thanks again. Your Orchid Friend,
