    I just wanted to thank everyone who responded to my post about
    buying gold coins. Quite a few of you had some info on great deals.
    Unfortunately the shipping and insurance, etc would have eliminated
    the benefit of ordering the gold on only one ounce. So, I found a
    dealer a few miles from my house.  I paid more than most of the sites
    you all recommended, but no shipping, insurance or sales tax evened
    it out. In the future when I can afford to buy several ounces at a
    time I will definitely use one of the many places recommended. Several
    people also questioned the efficiency of making your own alloys. I
    100 percent agree that it is not necessarily the most efficient way
    to work. But, the last gold I bought was about a half ounce in sheet
    and wire form and I have yet to use a single piece in it's original
    form. I figure, for now at least, If I'm going to roll and draw every
    bit of gold I use anyway, I should at least save a few bucks and do
    my own alloys. Now I just have bring myself to roll down my beautiful
    gold coin. I think my wife is getting jealous of it, maybe I'll let
    her do the honors.
