    I saw Lord of the Rings recently and had my eye on those cloak pins
    every time they were on screen.  They did look like they could be
    colored with enamel, but in some shots the veins of the leaves look
    raised and the coloring very flat (not like it is an added layer as
    with enamel) so that I was thinking that maybe it was patina?  Or
    just a dusting of enamel in the crevices?  I would love to see one of
    those things close up.
