I'm catching up on a backlog, please forgive if this has been
    handled already...

For several years the Ivory Snow flakes available over the counter
have been detergent rather than soap in my part of the world
(Texas)... if you want to use soap flakes, you have to grate them
yourself with a food processor or Mouli grinder... and it helps to
unwrap the bar and let it dry a few weeks as its high moisture gums
    everything up otherwise.
