    Noel: You're right, Noel. Ti wire does work great. It may be a bit of
    a challenge to find it in small diameters (I make a lot of hinges
    with .5 mm I. D.). Yes, it is difficult to draw down. Niobium wire
    will work just as well as Ti, and is available in small sizes. Try
    Reactive Metals. And yes, you can draw it down.
