    A Newspaper...a Necklace.

    Well...what with the goings-on in the world today...and there's
plenty of goings-on indeed...what could be a more appropriate item
than a necklace made of newspaper. Read while you dress for that
latest Haute-Couture fashion show you've been dying to attend. Read
while relaxing at the lounge waiting for that certain someone to pick
you up. Let others read while you're busy chatting with old friends
and ignoring them properly as protocol dictates. On the way
home...while not talking to whomever it is you just had a spat
with...read your jewelry and let him kiss you in the Asters.

Lest there are those of you who think this is a gimmicky item...rest
assured that it is indeed just that. But it's gimmicky...and
    unique...and lasting...and wearable. And it's clever as all get-out.

We're in Holland...circa 1983. Innovation and conceptual form is
rampaging across Europe. The public...then as now...is demanding new
ideas. Ambiguity as to just what constitutes jewelry begins to rise
out of the mists of creativity. An artist by the name of Gijs
Bakker turns the very idea of what jewelry is on its head. He
creates a one page newspaper neck piece coated in PVC.

Would you wear such a thing? Or would you? Or you? Or you? Some of
you would...some of you wouldn't. Depends, I guess, on the size of
your other jewels...and whether or not this necklace would fit in
    with your current dress motifs.

I have a friend who has little problem being center stage. She's
flamboyant and fearless and funny and smart. She'd wear this in a
flash...and laugh herself silly in the process. Others can wear it
in their imaginations...and have great fun doing it. In any
    case...the piece is a hoot...and I recommend you all take a gander
    at it.

For those of you who are new to this thing called Tidbits...may I
direct you to my home page at www.tyler-adam.com where you will
scroll down the left side menu till you get to the area that says
Tidbits...and then click on the link that says: News...where you
will see a graphic of our newspaper neck piece...inspired by an
    innovator...and worn by the daring.

And there ya have it. That's it for this week folks. Catch you all
    next week. Benjamin Mark
