Rubber mold cutting

Just one more letter on this subject. While in NY in March at the
MJSA trade show, I learned a wonderful tip from John Henkel at the
Castaldo exhibit, to wit: before you begin the process, take a
permanent marker and outline your pattern exactly where you want your
separating lines to be. The ink transfers to the rubber. This is
easily removed from the metal and doesn’t hurt the rubber. When
cutting the mold, simply follow the lines. For some pieces it’s
crucial to cut in exactly the right spot. It works beautifully, and
I’m very happy to pass this tip along. Thanks again to John Henkel
for sharing it with me.
