"This is my studio, a 6'x11' separate room with a window through which I vent my buffing wheel. I designed and built the oak work bench which extends in an L shape from the doorway in which I stood to take the photo. It is a cozy, inspiring place for me, and I have burned my muses into the fronts of my converted drawers. As usual, I always needs four times as much space as I started with..."

"Here is a photo of me at work on my travelling bench. I am camped out in the Arizona desert this winter. The bench folds down and stows in the back of my pickup..."

"I'm a diamond setter and live in Melbourne, Australia.  After 25 years of being in the jewellery business, I have designed and made my final bench. It has a one piece red gum top and specifically designed draws to keep a tidy work space.  I believe it's important to have lots of draws to separately store all the tools in order to have comfortable working space on the bench..."

"I started my education when I was six at St. Joseph High School in Valletta. Then I continued my secondary education at St. Joseph Sec. Tech. School in Paola, Malta. I continued my studies privately in Jewellery Design and Diamond Setting, and that was for three years. By the way, I must mention my father, Moses {late} who helped me a lot in my studies and bench tricks, he was a Jeweller himself..."

"This is the bench I made from an old table top and some bits of wood. As you can see, I like to spread out. The only thing I lack is drawers but somehow I think they may get too full of stuff..."

"Here is my organized chaos after a mild day of working - it usually looks worse. I have tried to keep my area clean and neat and I can never find the tool I need when its organized. I am a metalsmith, lapidarian, and designer (part time/hobby for the time being). My lapidary area is on the right side of this bench and I have a work space on the left that is just an empty-ish table for paper work and drawing. I am still working on building my own improvements =) I prefer my "table set up" vs a bench..."

"I've just begun to get set up again after a few years hiatus. I got the itch to travel and took a job with the US Govt in Seoul

I've set this up in a spare bedroom. plywood on the floor to protect the real floor. still waiting for gas tanks. then figure out where to fill them. the hurdles sometimes seem to never end, on the other hand, I'm learning to do projects with fewer tools! My next project is to do a portfolio of handmade loop in loop and crotched chains and braided jewelry. It's all stuff I can do with a simple plumbers propane torch...."
