These necklaces and breeches represent a recent departure for me. I wanted to make objects that are decorative and comfortably wearable. Beyond that, I want these articles to become the center of attention when they are worn, and thus make their wearers feel exceptional.

The forms are derived from drawings, and ultimately look back to comics. Some of the images are of flowers and leaves; other forms are taken from biology, body parts, letters, or traditional Decorative Arts. On the necklaces especially, the shapes have a pleasing formal balance as well as a playful sense of juxtaposition.

Most of the colored forms are carved and painted wood, which is durable and surprisingly light. Metal appears as connections, stems, leaves, and the occasional electroform.
