Reviving what seems to belong in the past, what is proclaimed dead, is a central theme in my work. My work is a form of death mask, each is tendered after a specific carcass. The animal forms become unsettling when transposed and reanimated from their original state, Attempting to resurrect life of futile effort when intentionally working in a flawed system. Inevitably life is not emulated and the limitations of the maker and materials are revealed. This failed attempt at resurrection makes my work memento mori, reminders that life must end.
